WASHINGTON
— The federal government is undertaking the most ambitious set of studies
ever mounted under a controversial arrangement that allows researchers
to conduct some kinds of medical experiments without first getting the
patients' permission.The $50 million,
five-year project, which will involve more than 20,000 patients in 11 sites
in the United States and Canada, is designed to improve treatment after
car accidents, shootings, cardiac arrest and other emergencies. http://www.signs-of-the-times.org/articles/show/133058-Medical+experiments+to+be+done+without+patients%27+consent

YORK -- Harry Potter would probably feel right at home here.
A new exhibit pairs an unusual subject _ dragons
and other fantastic creatures _ with an unlikely location: a science museum.
"Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids" opens Saturday at the
American Museum of Natural History and runs through Jan. 6
What's going on? Has one of the pre-eminent science
museums in the world made a find that would show these creatures are real?
No, no, the exhibit actually looks at how people have come up with all
kinds of myths and stories to account for things they didn't understand. The
show was put together with collaborators including The Field Museum in
Chicago, the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau; the Australian
National Maritime Museum in Sydney, and the Fernbank Museum of Natural
History in Atlanta. It will travel to those locations after closing in
New York. http://www.signs-of-the-times.org/articles/show/133012-Dragons+and+other+mythic+creatures+in+NYC+museum+exhibit Comment:
To have a better understanding about what ancient people were trying to
pass down through myth and stories about dragons and why 'cultures around
the world came up with such strange, mysterious creatures' readers are
referred to the book 'Exodus
to Arthur' by Mike Baillie and Laura Knight-Jadczyk's 'The
Secret History of the World'. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/search/ref=pd_lpo_ix_dp_ip_us_ca_en?keywords=exodus%20to%20arthur&tag=lpo%5Fixdpipuscaen-20&index=blended http://www.qfgpublishing.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=42&osCsid=66229e08e0aeb661e64c44b29846ad06 both
