A historic event will take place across the globe this 4th of July,
called “Independence Day” in the United States. It will happen in
London at the House of Parliament; in the U.S. outside the White House;
on both sides of
the Canadian-American border near Champaign, New York; in
Berlin, Germany; and in a growing number of other cities and locations
across the world.
It is a global gathering for freedom, a New World Order Protest Rally,
the first time Truthers of all persuasions are joining together to tell
the global elite that their infractions against humanity will no longer
be tolerated. This is a seed event, possibly a trigger event, in the
saga of mankind.
Massive social/political change always begins with the people talking
among themselves. Information is quietly spread, and public sentiment
grows. Then sentiment builds to resolve and breaks out into action. At
first, one singular but dramatic action, like a burgeoning seed poking
its head through the darkness
of earth into the daylight. That first significant act either is, or
activates, the spark that ignites the conflagration.
We have been waiting for someone to light a match, and a woman named Izzy Smart has
struck and tossed one. A humble Brit with a passion for freedom, she
created a website, Visionary
Peace, along with a stirring you-tube video
calling for world-wide rallies July 4th.
Truthers are responding with you-tube videos of their own and a large
Internet viral sharing of the call to protest next Friday. Illuminati
News, the David Icke website, and other online sites dedicated to
uncovering the conspiracy have also announced the demonstrations.
This event may be to the Truth Movement what Rosa Parks’ refusal to
move to the back of the bus was to the Civil Rights Movement. We need
to make ourselves part of it. If you and I don’t rise to the call now,
then when? After still more restrictions on freedom tie both
hands behind our backs?
It’s time to make a showing, to boldly stand up to the global elite,
the swindlers and liars who control our governments, our economy, our
military, our health care systems, our corporations, or media, our
education systems, our spiritual systems, the U.N. and everything else
that has power over us. They are the puppet masters. They stand on the
top of the human pyramid, and when enough of us who support that
pyramid remove
ourselves, the pyramid must fall.
On July 4, we take action together. We mustn’t let the few stand up
while the rest of us cower in the shadows. We boldly attend these
gatherings, with tee-shirts, protest signs, megaphones, and camcorders
in tow. We march and we slogan-chant. Hats and sunglasses are useful in
muting identity for those concerned about revealing theirs, but mask
wearing is not appropriate - that would make our movement scary to the
public. Masks call up mental images of terrorists.
The protests must be peaceful, without violence. Izzy reminds of us
this on a follow-up video
where she shows her face and gives rally details. If the few become
violent, they will destroy our good name in the court of public
opinion. This is what happened in the WTO rallies, causing world
opinion to side with the WTO.
Ours is not a revolution of blood but of consciousness. We are
consciously taking back our power as sovereign individuals, sovereign
communities and sovereign nations. We are saying no to all the
atrocities, and when we cease to support them with our obedience, they
will fall apart. The global rallies are our first collective act of
independence.
We must not think with discouragement that protests are ineffective. By
themselves, they are not enough, but this is just our first step.
Strong protests July 4 will bring our cause to the public awareness,
prompting people to google “New World Order” who never heard of it
before, or who never took “conspiracy theorists” seriously.
It isn’t paranoia if it’s true, and conspiracy isn’t a theory. This,
and our refusal to accept the New World Order, are the messages we must
send to the world and those who control it on this Independence Day.
I remember the movie “Independence Day,” the wonderful scene where
President Whitmore tells the little band of people right before their
bold July 4th initiative, “We will NOT vanish quietly into the night!”
His speech is a fitting end to this article, and I conclude with it: “Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join
others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest
aerial battle in the history of mankind. ‘Mankind.’ That word should
have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty
differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps
it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be
fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution…
but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist.

In 1099, the Crusaders conquered Jerusalem
and massacred its Muslim and Jewish inhabitants indiscriminately, in
the name of the gentle Jesus. At that time, 400 years into the
occupation of Palestine by the Muslims, Christians were still the
majority in the country. Throughout this long period, no effort was
made to impose Islam on them. Only after the expulsion of the Crusaders
from the country, did the majority of the inhabitants start to adopt
the Arabic language and the Muslim faith--and they were the forefathers
of most of today's Palestinians.

THERE IS no evidence whatsoever
of any attempt to impose Islam on the Jews. As is well known, under
Muslim rule the Jews of Spain enjoyed a bloom the like of which the
Jews did not enjoy anywhere else until almost our time. Poets like
Yehuda Halevy wrote in Arabic, as did the great Maimonides. In Muslim
Spain, Jews were ministers, poets, scientists. In Muslim Toledo,
Christian, Jewish and Muslim scholars worked together and translated
the ancient Greek philosophical and scientific texts. That was, indeed,
the Golden Age. How would this have been possible, had the Prophet
decreed the "spreading of the faith by the sword"?
What happened afterwards is even more
telling. When the Catholics re-conquered Spain from the Muslims, they
instituted a reign of religious terror. The Jews and the Muslims were
presented with a cruel choice: to become Christians, to be massacred or
to leave. And where did the hundreds of thousand of Jews, who refused
to abandon their faith, escape? Almost all of them were received with
open arms in the Muslim countries. The Sephardi ("Spanish") Jews
settled all over the Muslim world, from Morocco in the west to Iraq in
the east, from Bulgaria (then part of the Ottoman Empire) in the north
to Sudan in the south. Nowhere were they persecuted. They knew nothing
like the tortures of the Inquisition, the flames of the auto-da-fe, the
pogroms, the terrible mass-expulsions that took place in almost all
Christian countries, up to the Holocaust.
WHY? Because Islam expressly prohibited any
persecution of the "peoples of the book". In Islamic society, a special
place was reserved for Jews and Christians. They did not enjoy
completely equal rights, but almost. They had to pay a special
poll-tax, but were exempted from military service--a trade-off that was
quite welcome to many Jews. It has been said that Muslim rulers frowned
upon any attempt to convert Jews to Islam even by gentle
persuasion--because it entailed the loss of taxes.
Every honest Jew who knows the history of
his people cannot but feel a deep sense of gratitude to Islam, which
has protected the Jews for fifty generations, while the Christian world
persecuted the Jews and tried many times "by the sword" to get them to
abandon their faith.

THE STORY about "spreading the
faith by the sword" is an evil legend, one of the myths that grew up in
Europe during the great wars against the Muslims--the reconquista of
Spain by the Christians, the Crusades and the repulsion of the Turks,
who almost conquered Vienna. I suspect that the German Pope, too,
honestly believes in these fables. That means that the leader of the
Catholic world, who is a Christian theologian in his own right, did not
make the effort to study the history of other religions.
Why did he utter these words in public? And
why now?
There is no escape from viewing them
against the background of the new Crusade of Bush and his evangelist
supporters, with his slogans of "Islamofascism" and the "Global War on
Terrorism"--when "terrorism" has become a synonym for Muslims. For
Bush's handlers, this is a cynical attempt to justify the domination of
the world's oil resources. Not for the first time in history, a
religious robe is spread to cover the nakedness of economic interests;
not for the first time, a robbers' expedition becomes a Crusade.
The speech of the Pope blends into this
effort. Who can foretell the dire consequences?
Off Gore Point, where tide rips collide, the
rolling swells rear up and steepen into whitecaps. Quiet with
concentration, Chris Pallister decelerates from 15 knots to 8, strains
to peer through a windshield blurry with spray, tightens his grip on
the wheel and, like a skier negotiating moguls, coaxes his home-built
boat, the Opus — aptly named for a comic-strip penguin — through the
chaos of waves. Our progress becomes a series of concussions punctuated
by troughs of anxious calm. In this it resembles the rest of
Pallister’s life.

Ocean currents funnel a relentless tide of
plastic trash and other debris to the unpopulated shores of Gore Point
in Alaska
A 55-year-old lawyer with a monkish haircut, glasses that look
difficult to break, an allergy of the eyes that makes him squint and a
private law practice in Anchorage, Pallister spends most of his time
directing a nonprofit group called the Gulf of Alaska Keeper, or GoAK
(pronounced GO-ay-kay). According to its mission statement, GoAK’s
lofty purpose is to “protect, preserve, enhance and restore the
ecological integrity, wilderness quality and productivity of Prince
William Sound and the North Gulf Coast of Alaska.” In practice, the group has,
since Pallister and a few like-minded buddies founded it in 2005, done
little else besides clean trash from beaches. All along Alaska’s outer
coast, Chris Pallister will tell you, there are shores strewn with
marine debris, as man-made flotsam and jetsam is officially known. Most
of that debris is plastic, and much of it crosses the Gulf of Alaska or
even the Pacific Ocean to arrive there.
The tide of plastic isn’t rising only on Alaskan shores. In 2004 two
oceanographers from the British Antarctic Survey completed a study of
plastic dispersal in the Atlantic that spanned both hemispheres.
“Remote oceanic islands,” the study showed, “may have similar levels of
debris to those adjacent to heavily industrialized coasts.” Even on the
shores of Spitsbergen Island in the Arctic, the survey found on average
a plastic item every five meters.
Back in the 1980s, the specter of fouled beaches was a recurring
collective nightmare. The Jersey Shore was awash in used syringes. New
York’s garbage barge wandered the seas. On the approach to Kennedy
Airport, the protagonist of “Paradise,” a late Donald Barthelme novel, looked out his
airplane window and saw “a hundred miles of garbage in the water, from
the air white floating scruff.” We tend to tire of new variations on
the apocalypse, however, the same way we tire of celebrities and pop
songs. Eventually all those syringes, no longer delivering a jolt of
guilt or dread, receded from the national consciousness. Who could
worry about seabirds garotted by six-pack rings when Alaska’s shores
were awash in Exxon’s crude? Who could worry about turtles tangled in
derelict fishing nets when the ice caps were melting and the terrorists
were coming?
Then, too, for a while it seemed as if we might succeed in laying this
particular ecological nightmare to rest. In the mid-1980s, New York’s
sanitation department began deploying vessels called TrashCats to
hoover up scruff from the waterways around the Fresh Kills landfill.
Elsewhere beach-sweeping machines did the same for the sand. In 1987
the federal government ratified Marpol Annex V, an international treaty
that made it illegal to throw nonbiodegradable trash — that is, plastic
— overboard from ships in the waters of signatory countries. The good
news for the ocean kept coming: in 1988, Congress passed the Ocean
Dumping Reform Act, which forbade cities to decant their untreated
sewage into the sea. In 1989 the Ocean Conservancy staged its first
annual International Coastal Cleanup (I.C.C.), which has since grown
into the largest such event in the world. But beautification can be
deceiving. Although many American beaches — especially those that
generate tourism revenues — are much cleaner these days than they used
to be, the oceans, it seems, are another matter. Not even oceanographers can tell us exactly how much
floating scruff is out there; oceanographic research is simply too
expensive and the ocean too varied and vast. In 2002, Nature magazine
reported that during the 1990s, debris in the waters near Britain
doubled; in the Southern Ocean encircling Antarctica the increase was a
hundredfold. And depending on where they sample, oceanographers have
found that between 60 and 95 percent of today’s marine debris is made
of plastic.
Plastic gets into the ocean when people throw it from ships or leave it
in the path of an incoming tide, but also when rivers carry it there,
or when sewage systems and storm drains overflow. Despite the Ocean
Dumping Reform Act, the U.S. still releases more than 850 billion
gallons of untreated sewage and storm runoff every year, according to a
2004 E.P.A. report. Comb the Manhattan
waterfront and you will find, along with the usual windrows of cups,
bottles and plastic bags, what the E.P.A. calls “floatables,” those

There is no oil shortage, not yet at least. That doesn't mean we're not
quickly sliding towards Peak Oil. We probably are, but that has nothing
to do with today's gas prices. The reason oil has skyrocketed
to nearly $140 per barrel is because of speculation; rampant,
"unregulated" speculation. The peak oil doom-sayers are
simply confusing the issue. This is not about shortages or scarcity;
it's about gaming the system to fatten the bottom line. The whole scam
is being executed with excruciating precision by the same carpetbagging
scoundrels who engineered the subprime fiasco; the investment bankers. The
Wall Street Goliaths are using the futures market to recapitalize their
flagging balance sheets after sustaining massive losses in the
mortgage-backed securities boondoggle. That's the whole thing
in a nutshell. Now they're on to their next swindle; distorting the
futures market with humongous leveraged bets on food and oil.

your everyday transactions. Lately I have been
concentrating on economic renewal, which must start with local
economies rebuilding themselves. Currently, corporations enter the local
economy, vacuum up the cash flows, & strip out all the assets. If
you live in a city you might not have noticed this. If you live in a

think most Americans know that something stinks, but here's the
challenge. Remember the red button story?
In summer 2000 I was at the
Spiritual Frontiers Foundation International, giving a speech entitled
"How the Money Works in Organised Crime" about narcotics trafficking, etc.
etc. The Department of Justice says that we -- Americans
-- launder $500 billion to a trillion dollars a year. I asked the
audience, "What would happen if America stopped being the world wide
leader in global money laundering?" A hundred people (who go into the
woods for three days once a year to help work on evolving our society
spiritually) said that the stock market would go down & we would
have trouble financing the government deficit & so our taxes would
have to go up or our government checks might stop, because the $500
billion to a trillion would go to Switzerland and Singapore instead of
here.
"Okay," I said,
"imagine a big red button up here on the lectern. If you push this
button, you can stop all hard narcotics trafficking in your
neighbourhood, your city, town, county, state & your country
tomorrow. Who'll push the button?" Out of 100 people dedicated to
evolving our society spiritually, guess how many would push the button?
One!
I asked the other 99, "Why
would you not push the button?"
They said, "We don't want our
mutual funds to go down, & we don't want our government checks to
stop, & we don't want our taxes to go up." Right then the CIA &
Department of Justice had full "democratic" authority & popular
support to facilitate narcotics trafficking.
Most people don't understand
there is a way to push the red button that makes you money. I
call it "turning the red button green." That's what the Solari model is
about. It's turning the red button green, so that we can make money
pushing the button.
In my experience, Franklin,
the people running the system never say, "I want to go to Rome &
how do I get to Rome?" Rather, they say, "I want to go to Rome: now how
can I make money going to Rome?" That is always the operative design
question.
We have to ask, "How do we
make money pushing the red button?" There is a way to do it,
but everyone is terrified because it seems overwhelming. Nobody wants
to talk about it. You don't know whom you can trust. You don't
understand how the system works so you just try to protect your kids
& muddle through. The day that we understand that there is way to
turn the red button green, we will find that the American people have
more in them than we think. MONEYCHANGER
If somebody doesn't turn the red button green, then all the money,
& everything we love along with it, will be sucked out of our
lives. FITTS It's
worse than that. They are not just sucking all the money out of our
lives. It's one thing to be poor. It's another thing to be poor &
stoned on Prozac & Ritalin. MONEYCHANGER
And riddled with the diseases that the consumer society causes. FITTS What
better way to kill someone than to make money off of them killing
themselves? MONEYCHANGER
But now it seems almost impossible for that not to happen. In small
towns & rural areas, Wal-Mart comes in & sucks the money out
(to capitalise the local cash flow & sell it as stock), so there
are no small businesses left. Small farmers can barely make a living
even with government subsidies, & a big part of the rest are on
welfare because of high disability rates, & on & on.
How do you start to reverse
that flow? How do you hit the green button? FITTS The
flow has to be reversed globally. The pro-centralisation team
is a global network. They are a "we" & they have a plan.
The pro-decentralisation team is not networked globally, is
not a "we," & doesn't even have a map of this world, let alone a
plan.
I would submit that God is in
control & anything is possible. He parts the Red Sea & can do
anything He wants. The question is, when will we all get out of the
middle of the road? There are two teams, the demonic & the divine.
Most Americans think they can stay in the middle of the road. They
can't. They are on one team or the other. It will then be a global
"We", are not merely an American team "Wee are facing a global group
with a global plan.
We have to win in two places.
First is our neighbourhood, because the black budget finances one
neighbourhood take-over at a time. Then you've got to be networked so
you can deal at the top. You've got to do both. They can
divide & conquer in lots of different ways. Main Street in America
is divided & conquered from Main Street in Peru & so the
question is, can Main Street world-wide come together & act? MONEYCHANGER
The people on Main Street are alienated from each other, isolated
without sensing any need to work together. People in families are
isolated from each other. How do you begin to overcome that? FITTS For
nine years every time I look at this through logic, it looks hopeless.
Then through prayer God says, just do what I tell you. All these things
are not your problem, they are my problem.
When real solutions
come together they have the power to grow virally & turn things
around. All we need to do is vote with our prayers & our money. If
we will all vote with our money & our self-interest, the red button
turns green. If we don't do it, it's because we choose not to do it. We
have the power. They are few & we are many. They are coming out of
the closet & are a lot easier to see now. MONEYCHANGER
Vote with your money? Most people don't have that much money &
can't risk losing it. They believe they need a certain return on their
money, they've got to have their mutual funds. FITTS You
are putting your money in Citibank now & making 2% with risk. What
if there is a way to make 4% with no risk, & at the same
time stop feeding your enemy? If I feed the person who is
killing me, then I am going to die. MONEYCHANGER
How do you stop feeding them? FITTS Solari
Investors Circles are a cross between an investment club & a French
Resistance cell. I always tell people not to worry whether there is a
conspiracy because if you are not in one, you need to start one. The
key to who is in your circle is whom do you trust. It is a conspiracy,
& everybody knows you don't let people into a conspiracy unless you
trust them.
There are four fundamental
principles of a sound, healthy economy:
1. sound
currency,
2. transparency of shared, i.e.,
public, money and privacy of individual money,
3. equity financing instead
of debt. Debt equals war & equity equals peace.
4. Vote with your money. Do
not feed the people who are killing you or otherwise you will die.
What does a Solari Investor
Circle do? Whatever that circle wants to do. No individual Circle is
legally connected to any other Circle or my company or me. The word
conspiracy is from the Latin, con-spiro, & it means to
breathe together, so our connection is through the Spirit.
In each category of those
four principles, there are two categories of things you can do. You can
do transactions that (a) lower our costs of capital or
actions or transactions that (b) raise their cost of capital.
Think of it like a Chinese menu: your Circle is free to do anything in
your self interest, using the knowledge of how they are draining us to
reverse the drain.
Why would anybody do a
Circle? First & foremost, to stop the drain from his own life.
Circles reverse their own lives, but by reversing their own lives they
help produce the greater transformation. The problem is not that our
wealth is flowing to the centralisation team, but that our wealth is
shrinking. Every family on the pro-decentralisation that grows
in security & well being helps finance transformation.
As people do transactions to
advantage themselves & stop dealing with the Tapeworm -- we
call it "coming clean" -- they learn more & more about money.
Many of the drains occur because people don't understand money. I was,
stunned when I started to network & research. I had spent my whole
life in the money world & served with money people & I had no
idea how intentionally illiterate most of us were.
In the sound money category
the first model transaction we are going to use is a savings plan, your
Monthly Acquisition Plan. People say they have no money & they
can't afford to be an investor. Well, no one can become an investor
unless he intends to. When someone understands investment & thinks
of himself as an investor, even if he has no money, he starts to
accumulate. We want to teach people a savings mentality.
One person might not be able
to join your savings plan, but ten people each with $10 can send you
$100 to invest for them every month. As they start to acquire coins,
that pool of coins can be used to do a variety of things. It can be
used as a reserve fund to finance debt elimination or a community
currency. Imagine if every community world-wide had their own quirky
community currency but all had a common store of value in silver &
gold.
At the end of the Depression
there were about 3,000 community currencies. Wherever I go I find
tremendous interest in community currencies among people who are
financially illiterate, but they have no idea how to start. How do you
start to lean? You start saving & acquiring precious metals. Transparency. The
Tapeworm has total transparency into what is supposed to be our
private, individual financial data, while we have non-transparency into
government data. A Circle with time & inclination can calculate
sources & uses of taxes, appropriations, & federal credit in
their locality. They can propose bottom-up re-engineering that could
create serious jobs in that neighbourhood. Suppose I walk into a local,
state or federal office & say, "Look, you're paying a contractor
$150 an hour to do data services related to this state & this
county, & we have unemployed people here who would be delighted to
do it for half price." There are laws that make it difficult for a
government official to say, "No, I will continue to pay three times as
much as I need for this function."
In lots of neighbourhoods
where HUD is managing the single-family foreclosed properties, there is
real opportunity to re-engineer that money. In many neighbourhoods the
federal government was paying $55,000 for a woman & 1.8 kids to
live in HUD housing with food stamps on welfare when $25,000 would
teach her a job that she could do in the neighbourhood & become a
taxpayer. But those things can only happen where citizens get involved
in transparency. MONEYCHANGER
The goal in a Solari Investor Circle is to make that money they are now
sending away to work locally. Is that the idea?

all the municipal assets. They haven't gotten into the water & the

What I am saying is that privatisation is not introducing
free markets. FITTS

Ask the people all around the globe in countries where that has already
happened. FITTS Have
you ever read any of Greg Palast's work? He's an American but he worked
with the BBC & documented the IMF, how they go into a country &
force everybody to sell at 10 cents on the dollar. That's
pirate-isation, & that's what they are planning to do here with the
municipalities. MONEYCHANGER
Really then the only self defence is something like Solari in order to
build a strong local economy. FITTS We are
the target of a conspiracy. It's mature & has gone on a long time.
You've got to start one cell at a time creating a conspiracy that
counteracts the conspiracy.
I came out of the Bush
Administration saying they are going to kill us all. I was working 100
hours a week because I was in an emergency state. I was like a dog
trying to find a bone. We had to come up with an investment model that
would create far more wealth. In other words, these guys are basically
getting the stock market to rise by driving the Popsicle Index down. [The
Popsicle Index measures how safe you feel to let you child walk out of
the house to buy a popsicle, i.e., the safety of your neighbourhood. It
is the % of the people in a community who believe that a child can
leave their home, go alone to the nearest place to buy a popsicle and
come home alone safely. We have to get the Popsicle Index rising
so that the stock market also rises. My dream is that all the activists
come to the barricades at the World Trade Organisation meetings with
signs that say, "We can generate a higher rate of return than you can."
Think about the power of that. MONEYCHANGER
We have to offer people something better than what they have now. You
can't beat something with nothing. You can't go to people & say
this evil conspiracy is eating us up, so get your money out, lower your
standard of living, & hunker down on your pile of dried beans with
your forty-five in your lap waiting for the end to come. That is not a
plan. (Laughter) FITTS No,
you have to say we can produce a higher return on investment than they
can.
When we were doing the
simulations in 1998, & when I first saw the simulations of how much
wealth was created, I had a team of quantitative analysts from MIT,
brilliant guys. One of them brought me the numbers & I said, "This
is impossible. Do it again, this can't be right". He brought it back.
What I didn't understand was when you align financial stuff with
people's basic dreams & hopes, society gets smarter & smarter
& smarter. MONEYCHANGER

The author of this piece, Amos Schocken, of the Schocken

Self-Criticism from an Israeli,
American, and Orthodox Jewish Perspective.
Israeli jurist and former Knesset member Amnon Rubinstein recently
editorialized on “national suicide” in the Jerusalem Post. Citing
Israeli army Lt. Col. Ari Bar Yossef, Rubinstein offered Saddam
Hussein, Yasser Arafat and the Taliban in Afghanistan as exemplars of
this new construct. Hussein could have avoided overthrow by giving U.N.
arms inspectors free rein to search his country. Arafat, after the
failure of the Camp David peace talks, could have continued negotiating
but resorted to violence. Finally, the Taliban could have given up
Osama bin Laden to the U.S. but instead invited self-destruction. All
this because, per Rubinstein, these leaders prefer dying to
“negotiating with infidels.”
“National suicide” will soon be an incantation by neoconservative
and other pro-Israeli pundits and politicians on the “bomb Iran”
bandwagon. Its strategic implications are clear: We can’t trust
irrational regimes because they are not deterred by threat of
annihilation. Therefore, extraordinary actions — such as preemptive
attack — may be not only justified but necessary. It further shifts
moral responsibility to the victim. In the “national suicide”
formulation, it is the martyr that chooses death, while the actual
killers are merely the instrument by which the suicide — or, as the
case may be, the destruction of a country — is carried out.
Yet the idea of an Arab Muslim tendency toward self-destruction is
wrongheaded and dangerous.(...)

As we have said before, time and again, none of this has
anything to do with security for the people, but rather security for
the criminals in charge.
Another scary week with oil rising 4% in dollars and the Dow falling
almost four and a half percent. As Nouriel Roubini points out, until
recently it was possible for some to think that the worst of the
financial crisis was past. Now few could say that.
With energy and food prices rising rapidly, average people feel the
crisis in their gut. But should we be so pessimistic? Maybe a change in
perspective will help us. A couple of weeks ago we quoted Ran
Prieur who said that we should think of "corporate rule"
when we hear the term "the economy." We should interpret "expansion" as
a "contraction." So if we hear that the economy is crashing, can we
think that really the rule of psychopathic corporations is crashing?

Of course a lot of people will get hurt when something so large
falls, but do we really want corporate rule to continue? On the other
hand, we shouldn't just passively wait for the crash to happen. As Franklin Sanders put it, the way to rebuild
an economy after it crashes is to rebuild it before it
crashes.
If the system that has been in place for a generation is ending,
then opposite trends may characterize the next phase. If the last 25
years has seen globalization and the increasing power of multinational
corporations, all of which has been dependent of cheap oil and U.S.
hegemony, than maybe we will see more localization of economic life.
Higher energy and transportation costs and the collapse of the unipolar
world of U.S. military predominance should reinforce that trend. Who
knows, maybe the trend of increasing social isolation and stress can be reversed. Again, if we are not
passive and begin to build newer, more humane and localized economic
and social forms perhaps we can lessen the pain of the coming crisis.
For many years now the American
foreign policy has been characterized by the strong tie between the
United States and Israel. Does the United States in fact keep Israel on
its feet? And how long will it continue to do so? In March 2006 the
American political scientists John Mearsheimer (University of Chicago)
and Steve Walt (Harvard) published the controversial article 'The
Israel Lobby and US foreign policy'. In it they state that it is not,
or no longer, expedient for the US to support and protect present-day
Israel. The documentary sheds light on both parties involved in the
discussion: those who wish to maintain the strong tie between the US
and Israel, and those who were critical of it and not infrequently
became 'victims' of the lobby. The question arises to what extend the
pro-Israel lobby ultimately determines the military and political
importance of Israel itself. Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson (Colin Powell's
former chief-of-staff) explains how the lobby's influence affects the
decision-making structure in the White House.

China Warns US Economy On Brink Of Collapse Over Massive Dollar Outflow

China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) is warning today that an ‘unprecedented’ inflow of money from Western Nations has increased their foreign reserves to nearly $1.8 trillion, of which billions cannot be explained.
This news comes at the same time that reports in the United States arestating:
“United Nations sources report that there has been a sudden rush in requests for foreign exchange wire transfer requests from New York City banks. The sudden demand for transferring funds abroad has resulted in a 24 to 48-hour processing delay due to the sheer volume of requests.
Foreign employees at the United Nations are transferring their money from accounts at the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) and other New York City banks, both domestic and foreign-owned, and the move has been sudden.
There has been no explanation for the sudden wire transfer activity, although the rumor mill suggests fears of a sudden economic collapse and/or a U.S. and Israeli military attack on Iran, which could touch off a wider regional conflict.”
So alarmed have the Chinese become of the West’s rush to engulf the World in Total War that President Hu Jintao has accepted Japan’s invitation and will make a rare visit outside of his country to voice China’s concerns directly to the Western Leaders at their scheduled G-8 Summit.
As soaring oil prices continue to pummel the United States economy, and as the ‘drumbeats for war’ become deafening, the American public is being whipped into a war frenzy with a new warning being issued by one of their top Senators, Joseph Lieberman, that the US ‘will be attacked in 2009’, and by a top Pentagon official warning that ‘Israel is increasingly likely to attack Iranian nuclear facilities this year.’
Not being understood by the American people, however, and as Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had previously pointed out by stating “I feel that oil prices are going up artificially. There is a game going on behind it.”, our World is literally drowning in oil due to the machinations of the US War Leaders to artificially raise the price of this fuel to a level reflecting a total cutoff of Middle Eastern supplies.
Though the Commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, Vice-Admiral Kevin J. Cosgriff, has stated that they ‘won’t allow’ Iran to close down the Strait of Hormuz, the ferocity of an Iranian counterattack against the West would be devastating, and as we can read as reported by the Christian Science Monitor News Service:
“Iran's supreme religious leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei also warned of far-reaching revenge in 2006. "The Americans should know that if they assault Iran, their interests will be harmed anywhere in the world that is possible," he said. "The Iranian nation will respond to any blow with double the intensity."
Analysts say Iran has a number of tools to make good on those threats and take pride in taking on a more powerful enemy. "This is not something they are shying away from," says Alex Vatanka, a Middle East security analyst at Jane's Information Group in Washington.
"They say: 'Conventional warfare is not something we can win against theUS, but we have other assets in the toolbox,' " says Mr. Vatanka, notingthat the IRGC commander appointed last fall has been "marketed as this genius behind asymmetric warfare doctrine."
Any US-Iran conflict would push up oil prices, and though Iran could disrupt shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf, its weak economy depends on oil revenues.
But nearby US forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Gulf provide a host of targets. Iran claimed last October that it could rain down 11,000 rockets upon "the enemy" within one minute of an attack and that rate "would continue."
Further afield, Israel is within range of Iran's Shahab-3 ballistic missiles, and Hezbollah claims its rockets – enhanced and resupplied by Iran since the 2006 war to an estimated 30,000 – can now hit anywhere in the Jewish state, including its nuclear plant at Dimona.
Closer to home, Iran has honed a swarming tactic, in which small and lightly armed speedboats come at far larger warships from different directions. A classified Pentagon war game in 2002 simulated just such an attack and in it the Navy lost 16 major warships, according to a report in The New York Times last January.”
But, not just to war and fuel worries are the Americans facing either, and as we can read:
“You. Will. Not. Be. Able. To. Get. Food. Need this be spelled out any more plainly? It is time to consider that the stage has been set for petroleum-induced famine.
We have "innocently" accommodated rising population with greater and greater food production via technology and the profit motive. But now we have run out of room to grow, as biotechnology, for example, has severe limitations -- major ones being petroleum dependence and topsoil loss. The biggest wild card for our existence is climate change, as we see with floods and other extreme weather affecting our food supply.
We are headed for massive shortages of food and other essentials, mainly brought about by the depletion of geological fossil reserves of cheap energy and water. The situation is demonstrated regularly with easy arithmetic based on statistical indicators from the United Nations, Worldwatch Institute, World Resources Institute, Earth Policy Institute, and numerous governments. Usually the full force of the message is offset by predictions of huge rises in future human population growth that are simple extrapolations of historical trends.
No one can say with certainty that the worst effects of today's crisis will occur tomorrow or by any particular date. But it is irrational to assume there will only be gradual tightening of supplies until some solutions miraculously come to our aid. One ought to at least admit that one year ago few people thought we'd be going in the direction we're going in, this fast, today.
Three days is our average food supply around the modernized world, i.e., for cities and their supermarkets. Long-term food stocks have plummeted: "Cereal stocks that are at their lowest level in 30 years," according toWorldwatch institute in its most recent Vital Signs. This is exacerbated by increasingly weirder weather, compounded by the oil price/supply pressure on food. What can interfere with the three-day situation are truckers on strike (as in Europe), extended/repeated power outages, and the inability of the work force to commute to work.”
Though more Americans are listening to our warnings there doesn’t exist evidence, yet, that they are preparing for the catastrophes lying in wait for them. It is as if they have forgotten the most basic lessons of everything their ancestors once taught them, the first being that all else comes second to storing food in times of crisis.
